Make sure ceiling fans are working. Check for warped blades, loose blade screws or a wobbling motor. Clean the blades regularly. Clean your barbeque. Run a gas grill on high for 10 to 15 minutes to burn off residue, and then turn off, and clean with a wire brush. Touch up exterior paint now, as a sudden drop in temperature can ruin your paint job. Scrape, sand, and clean any blistered or peeling areas. Spot-prime and apply a finish coat with enough overlap to adhere to the existing paint surface. Check to be certain that flammable paints, thinners, stains, hazardous, and poisonous materials are stored in a locked, metal fire-resistant cabinet. Inspect and service washers and dryers, cook tops or stoves, dishwashers, trash compactors, exhaust fans, etc., according to the manufacturers' recommendations.
